False Notifications

My favorite is when an Araknis switch is "offline" while the Wattbox that's connected to the network via that switch is online.

This has been 'Planned' since 2020 - Any updates on this? The number of false alerts I receive daily at the moment is absolutely crazy.

Charlie Harrington: have you heard anything regarding this? Constant issues

Christopher Tilas: Nope, nothing, nada. Hundreds of false notifications still coming through. I've started ignoring OvrC.

This has been happening to me as of recently as well. We've been getting 200+ notifications a day from a couple different clients of devices disconnecting and reconnecting all while we check to see the devices are fine and have never been disconnected in the first place. I have never had this issue in this large of a scale, and I see this issue was relevant 3 years ago and is now relevant again. With all the updates OVRC has been getting recently I hope they can solve this ASAP as all actual notifications are getting drowned out and is affecting our time and effort to solve actual disconnections.

So glad to find a post on this that is getting addressed, I have been posting on this for some time, with seeming not attention. I have found post on this going back years. It is truly out of control, getting worse, and affecting our ability to service the customer through OVRC! In the last 2 nights I have personally serviced 3 different systems remotely and have removed over 100 devices in each site. I have even had a site I had to remove 490 plus devices.

This is plaguing our service too, we're only interested in devices that have been offline for more than an hour. I receive over 500 emails a day from OvrC which means I cannot actually see which devices are offline and need attention becuase of all the on/off/on/off repeat false notifications.

We are working on addressing the accuracy of notifications.

We have this issue across all our sites too. It is very bad we have to scan through emails everyday for the online and online notifications. I do would if it is related to the auto reboot feature. We have all ours set to 5 mins scan time I think ovrc has a different option which is an hour if I remember correctly. I may try changing it to this as like everyone states it is pointless having these notifications if they are incorrect

False notifications have made this platform only good for remote access to devices. I've turned notifications off once again. Received 46 false notifications while I was asleep and 32 in the last 5 hours. All false.
You'll ask, are you sure. I'd say yes. These clients homes with false notifications would not be functional if these notifications are true. One is my house. Example, 310 Managed POE switch, OvrC says offline but devices plugged into aren't including WAPs. Hmmm
You'll then ask, what devices. All Araknis believe it or not. Its funny right because you'd think we'd have that figured our for Araknis product.
You'll then ask, what Araknis product. Routers, switches, APs, and Wattboxes.
Very disappointed with OvrC at the moment.

Our main culprits seem to be Araknis Switches, Wattboxes, Sonos and Control4 EA Controllers. Although that is really all we monitor, so not much else would send an alert. It also seems to be worse at some sites than others - some clients have multiple false positives a day and others don't have any false positives for months.

We've had the same problem for months, so much so, we don't generally use notifications as they don't mean anything. Switches, WAP's, C4 kit, cameras etc. What's strange though is that we turn off notifications as they have no value. But if we turn them back on, for 24 to 48 hours it works fine, no false positives, then all of a sudden, we get bombarded with false positives.
