For clients, an on/off button plus scheduling for the broadcast of wifi. This is important for families trying to control internet access for children. Not just set up in each individual access point as control this way is not feasible.

Under "Client Services" there are Network Controls that allow you to create schedules and profiles for wifi and also individual profiles that you can create device lists and turn wifi on and off for each profile. Clients can also control these profiles using the OvrC Connect mobile app if you enable the option to do so.

IT Milow This done via MAC, which is horribly inefficient, and extremely difficult when a lot of devices can mask MAC addresses now. It is far easier to just put kids on their own WiFi.

Chad Grossman If a child is technologically savvy enough to figure out access is controlled via MAC address and knows how to spoof the address, you are going to have a hard time limiting their access period. For the other 99% of kids it works great and is already a feature in the Araknis products.

IT Milow WWwhat about a separate SS ID fffor the kids net work and that’s controlled via schedule somehow? II’I’ve done homes where the access point near the kids bedrooms is deprived of POE power on a schedule. It’s a little bit of a brute force technique, but as long as they’re physically in their rooms after curfew that seem to work for one family anyway.
